Do any schools use SGA/student fee money to fund a professional staff position?
Summary: I am wanting to find out if any other institutions out there have used SGA/Student Fee money to fund a professional staff position (SGA Advisor, Student Activities, etc.). Our Student Activities Coordinator position was only allowed to be filled at half-time last year due to a soft hiring freeze. This position directly serves the students and oversees Student Clubs, SGA, and Student Activities, essentially all of the programs that the SGA fees go toward. Our Coordinator is doing a great job at half time, but there is always a lot more that we could be doing. We are exploring the idea of hiring another half-time position using the student fees as we think we could improve services to students.
