A. Yes. Both Cambridge (Denehy Park near Fresh Pond) and Boston (Millenium Park in West Roxbury) have converted old landfills to recreation areas with synthetic turf fields. Visit them, and we think you will agree that they are attractive and well-used parks. And of course, the football field at Downes Field in Brookline has just recently been converted to synthetic turf.
