Do any of you all know the meaning to the underoath song some will seek forgiveness, other escape?
There are two meanings that I found on the internet that I really like: 1) “To me, this song is about a guy that is doing something wrong…and as he’s doing it…he hears God telling him that it’s wrong, but also that He will teach him to overcome temptation. And when he sings, “Here’s my kiss to betray desperate to brush the lips of grace. Do you feel hollow when you think of how I’ve lied?” He’s talking about how the guy feels guilty for what he did wrong and he wants to be seen pure in God’s eyes. And then when he says Jesus, I’m ready to come home…He’s just submitting to God completely, giving up everything.” 2) “The first part of this song is God telling us that we are weak, and that he will make us strong. The second part, I think, is the self-doubt we feel when we think of how God sees us, as we really are.
