Do any of the texts in the Bible contradict scientific principles?

First off, the Bible is not a science book but the priciples that science is now aware of were already written about thousands of years ago by the Bible authors. I’ll list 9 or 10 examples. 1. The Shape of the Earth—-“He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in,” (Isaiah 40:22, NIV). 2. The Earth is suspended in nothing (outer space)—- “He spreads out the northern[skies] over empty space; he suspends the earth over nothing,” (Job. 26:7, NIV). This is particularly interesting, considering that the cosmology of other cultures at that time did not have the earth suspended in nothing, but rather upon pillars, or people, or animals. 3. The Stars are Innumerable—– “He took him outside and said, ‘Look up at the heavens and count the stars — if indeed you can count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be,'” (Gen. 15:5, NIV). 4. The question should rather be what text doesn’t contradict scientific principles.

The bible is not a scientific text and it would be unfair to hold it up to this scrutiny. It has a load of historical and archaeological text and reference that need more research into.

The disagreement between those who believe in science and those who believe in religion and the sacred texts will not be resolved for some time but we will know when we die. For those that believe in science, good luck, ’cause if you’re wrong, you’re gonna need it. For those who believe in God and the truths He has revealed, we have nothing to lose. And, it’s comforting to think that some of the greatest scientists have stated that it’s impossible for there not to have been God directing everything. In the meantime, I guess we will just have to agree to disagree. For those who accept it, God bless you, and for those who don’t, good luck or whatever you believe in.

I don’t think anyone mentioned the fact that the great flood was supposed to have happened in recorded history. That is to say, the Chinese and Egyptians and other civilisations have unbroken written records running right THROUGH the time of the flood, yet they fail to mention anything about everyone dying and Noah and his sons then repopulating all the empires with different races of people, then rebuilding the pyramids and temples and great cities exactly as they were, and all that. You’d think that someone must have found this bizarre series of events remarkable enough to write about, or at least that they’d stop writing for a while after God killed them all. Guess it’s not easy being a god when you drown the entire planet you’ve created and then all the people you’ve killed are just like, “meh, whatever” and just carry on doing whatever it was they were doing. Maybe that’s why he’s so grumpy all the time. So yeah, I guess what I’m saying is that if history counts as a science, you
