Do any of the small pets require vaccinations?
Only ferrets. They receive Ferret Distemper and rabies in a similar series to puppies and kittens. They are also started on heartworm prevention. 4. What about spaying/neutering? All ferrets are spayed, neutered and descented prior to sale in the state of Florida. It is recommended that rabbits be spayed/neutered due to behavior as well as risk of neoplasia (especially uterine) in females. 5. How should I transport my pet to the clinic? For sick pets, transport in their “home” cage is preferable is possible so that we can examine bedding, food quality, size of cage, material made of, ect. If not possible due to size of enclosure, that’s ok.
