Do any of our computers run Matlab?
• A: Yes, there is a site licensed version in the CSEL.. ITS also provides educational versions of Matlab – in their PC and Mac labs, and on the Unix server called magellan. To get accounts on magellan, the instructor should send a request to trouble@magellan, giving information about the class that will be needing Matlab. Then ITS can add the class to the PLUS (Personal Lookup Services) web page so students in that class have the option of creating their own magellan account at http://plus.colorado.edu/. That is, “magellan” suddenly appears as one of the options along with WEBMAIL and UCSU and whatever accounts they already have. Students don’t have to mail trouble@magellan themselves, and they are already acquainted with using PLUS for creating accounts and setting passwords.
