Do any credit caps apply to the Externship Program?
Externships are graded on a Satisfactory/Unsatisfactory basis. A maximum of 11 credit hours of S/U work (excluding Litigation) can be applied toward graduation. In addition, no more than 12 credit hours of clinical course work and externships combined can be applied toward graduation. The maximum number of externship course hours that can be applied toward graduation is 6. 11. Can students take an externship where the credit hours will not count toward graduation? If so, must the paperwork and meeting requirements be met? As a general rule, externships may not be taken when the credit caps noted above have been exceeded. All credit hours earned in the Externship Program must count toward graduation, with one exception. Students who wish to enroll in a year-long externship may do so where at least three of the six credits earned will apply toward graduation. In every case, all course expectations for the year, including paperwork and meetings, must be met or no credits will be awarded f
