Do antique headboards/footboards come in a queen size or are they all doubles?

Answer Hi Happy Nice to hear from you. Antique beds only come in double size, but if you find a nice old head board you love there is no reason you cannot mount it on the wall behind your bed. Mine is like that and looks fine. Here is a good place to look for your lamp http://search.rubylane.com/ni/collectibles?ss=lamps&samedb=1&style=3&previd=0&sb… When buying old furniture I always avoid painted pieces unless I am happy to repaint them. There are too many unpleasant surprises under paint…ie severe water marks burns etc. Next I only buy pieces with original finishes. The woods I prefer are mahogeny, cherry, walnut and birch. Look for good construction. Try the drawers and doors to make sure they work correctly. I prefer solid wood to veneer, although there are nice veneer pieces out there I find the veneer is often damaged and it takes a pro to fix veneer. If its at all possible, take someone shopping with you who has a bit of knowledge in this area that they will pass on to you.
