Do antiacids cause constipation and stomach pains?

0

I took TUMS for heartburn until I was diagnosed with an ulcer. An antibiotic with an acid reducer solved my ulcer. I also have GERT, and I take Prilosec, 20-mg, once a day. I too think TUMS added to my constipation then. TUMS are really for a quick-fix for heartburn. There are about 4 or 5 OTC acid fighter that were one time only available with a doctor’s prescription. I keep spares OTC Prlosec, 10-mg, should I fail to renew my prescription. Prevacid, Zantac, Pepcid, Prilosec are available OTC, and can provide better control of your stomach acid than TUMBS.
