Do animals that hear have the same kind of ears?
In small teams, students search for images of an animal which relies on very good hearing to help it survive. They download the image, prepare an information product and present it to the class. Students compose a message which lists the name of five animals which have good hearing. They email it to other members of the class and the reader returns their own list. They add the names of new animals to their own list. Sounds under water Students recount experiences of being able to hear under water. They discuss their understanding of whether animals can communicate by sounds travelling through water. They watch whales (CD, video) and listen to whale sounds.
