Do Americans support hunting and trapping on National Wildlife Refuges?
Whenever they are asked, the American people make it clear that they want their National Wildlife Refuges maintained according to Theodore Roosevelt’s original intent, not turned into hunting preserves that are dishonestly named. A Decision Research opinion poll conducted in 1999 revealed that 78% of Americans oppose hunting and trapping on National Wildlife Refuges. Their views deserve a better hearing than they have yet received.
