Do Americans still hate the Dixie Chicks?

0

I don’t know that Americans hate the Chicks. More like they just don’t find them relevant in the mainstream of the music business anymore. They stood for something that was unpopular with a lot of the demographic group that makes up their fan base. I think their devoted fans will stick by them regardless. But as far as the casual fan, they’ve lost a lot of them…but it’s their own doing. Philosophically, they made no attempt to soften their stance in order to keep those fans. Musically, they’ve strayed totally from the genre that brought them their fame and fortune. For good or bad, they don’t seem to care, and I respect that about them, though I totally disagree with their politics. I saw them in concert several years ago, and came away completely impressed. They are 3 incredibly talented musicians. I miss them on the radio, but I’ve moved on. We all make choices and have opinions in this life. The Chicks have made theirs, and the fans have made theirs.
