Do Americans need a visa to live and work in Canada?

You do need a work visa but if your fiance is on a skilled work permit, you may be able to get an open spouse work permit if you qualify as common law partners (lived together for 12 months or more) or if you get married. If your fiance is on a low skill work permit, you would need to qualify for your own permit. Regardless of what other people on here are saying, in Calgary, it’s not that hard. There is a shortage of even low skilled people.
