Do Americans like conspiracy theories more than people of other nations?
Less so, I think. We’re remarkably easy to fool. I mean, how come our political assassinations are ALWAYS “lone nuts,” and NEVER political? Forty years after the fact, the truth gets released by the Navy that the whole Gulf of Tonkin incident was a fake, yet no one questions the “Iranian boat incident” that same week? Our current president is the son of a former head of the secret police and a former president, and first came to power in an election decided by disputed votes from the state where his brother was governor. I’d say we were WAY less likely to believe in conspiracies than people in other countries. We’re naive here.
