Do all wireless phone companies keep copies of text message you’ve sent, or just Cricket Wireless?

Just curious if all wireless companies have copies of every text sent to and from their phones saved on a computer somewhere like Cricket. Asking because my boss recently got into lots of trouble with his girlfriend when one of her friends (who works at a cricket store here) got into his txt’s and showed his girlfriend messages he had been sending. Seems like he should have reported her, at least to Cricket. I have a hard time believing that that’s allowed. All of them do.
