Do all types of cast iron need to be seasoned?

0

Nope. Cast iron cookware that is coated with enamel or impregnated with nickle will not require seasoning to remain in optimal condition. However, the enameled and matte coatings do require just as much care and mild caution when cooking, as with raw cast iron cookware, so as to not damage the finish on top. Our line of Lodge cast iron cookware comes seasoned and ready to use right out of the box but will require some extra attention. To remain in prime condition, you’ll simply have to wipe or spray a light coat of vegetable oil on all surfaces after it has been rinsed out and dried (never use soap or harsh detergent).
