Do all TMJ sufferers wake up with jaw pain/headache?
A good screening for the novice is put your fingers in your ears and pull forward not hard, but pull forward fairly hard, open wide, try to close, and if your TMJ is properly located in the TMJ complex you should be able to close all of the way. If it hurts when you do this, this means the condyle of your mandible is displaced to the posterior/superior area of your jaw joint and the disc of the joint isn’t workig properly for whatever reason. Not all TMJ sufferers wake up with their pain. Pain when eating is a good indication you have some derrangement of the TMJ complex.
