Do all States and Counties have Tax Sales?
Every state in the US has taxing municipalities/entities who need to recoupe lost tax revenue as a result of nonpaying property owners. The taxing municipality or entity is not always a county – in Alabama it is the parish; in Alaska, a Burough. In addition, you’ll find that in some areas, the responsibility of collecting delinquent real property taxes and holding subsequent tax lien or tax deed auctions does not always fall on the taxing unit. Sometimes this is handled by another entity – such as the state.
