Do all prospective college athletes have to register with the NCAA?
No. Only athletes planning to play at the Division I or Division II levels need to register. Division III athletes do not have to register. If you are not certain at which level you will end up playing, it is better to error on the safe side and go ahead and register. You may not go on any official visits (i.e. visits paid for by the college) until you are registered.
