Do all memory sticks work with all computers?

memory sticks as in flash memory like a pen drive, no they dont in short. it depends on the formatting of the drive if its formatted for linux (ext3 or 4) it wont work in a windows box most pen drives are in fat 32 wihich is supported by windows inside the NTFS system but errors can occur as they are not that reliable, but if you mean the widows environment most pendrives sold will need a format from new neway so you can make them compatible with your system.

They will work in all modern PC’s but there’s still a few diehards using Windows 98 or older which can’t use a USB device without a driver being installed first. XP or better or Linux no problem. Don’t go overboard with sizes (it’s storage not memory btw) 4 GB should be plenty. For that size, you shouldn’t be paying more than a tenner for a good quality one The majority come pre-formatted and ready to use You could look in the bigger shops like PCWorld or Maplins, but you’re likely to pay way over the odds. 4 GB USB flash drive = £10 or less everywhere else and online of course.
