No. Education programs must be presented by an individual, state, or national organization accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing. Education programs may be in any format including, but not limited to, courses, workshops, and independent study modules. AMSN is an excellent resource for medical-surgical nursing educational programs through their annual convention, their official journal, MEDSURG Nursing, and their member newsletter, MedSurg Matters!. Both of these publications offer contact hours through continuing education articles for independent study in each issue.
