Do all dioxins pose the same health risk?
No. There are over 210 different dioxin and furan compounds, and only some are considered toxic. The type of dioxin compound and its associated risk level depends on the source. For example, the majority of the dioxins found in wood ash (one source of dioxins at the mill site), pose the least potential for harm (10,000 times less so than the most toxic form of dioxin).
