Do all digital cameras work with the Datacard integrated software?

Answer To develop the integrated software for Datacard® ID Works® identification software, there needs to be a means for the software to interact with and control the camera at a very basic level. This ability to control the camera allows us to optimize the camera settings and configuration for both the identification application and the environment. This controllability is one of the major reasons for the high image quality achieved by the integrated cameras. Most cameras do not support this ability to be controlled from a PC, and those few that do allow PC control all do it through different, proprietary interfaces. There is no one communications protocol that supports cameras from different manufacturers (some manufacturers use more than one protocol).
