The answer is No. Ford and General Motors in the US do not recommend S-TRSW. On the other hand, Ford and GM in Europe to use S-TRSW for repair of their manufacturered vehicles. It is no different than for 30 years ago when MIG welding was introduced. It took a long time to agree on the technique.
