Do all budget airlines need passport numbers and expiry dates b4 travelling to spain or the balearics!?
Not only the budget airlines but any airline with the destination Spain departing from a non-Schengen country must report the data of their passengers to the Spanish government prior to departure. This is based on the terrorist attacks in 2007. BTW: Citizens of EU/EEA countries except Denmark, Ireland, and the United Kingdom may travel on their national ID cards and do not need a passport for international flight travel within Europe.
