Do all Broncos rust over the rear wheel arches and at the base of the tailgate?
Well, not all but the vast majorities do. It has to do with the design of the sheet metal in these three locations. The tailgate is the most expensive item to replace/repair usually. Rust begins from the inside in these locations when moisture gathers in the trough created by the meeting of the inner and outer sheet metal that makes the tailgate and wheel arch inner and outer skin. When repairing rust damage in these areas, its a good idea to take preventive measures to seal these troughs from moisture contamination with heavy undercoating or spray-on/paint-on bed liner coatings.
