Do all branches of christianity follow the same rituals, practices, way of worship?
Good question. One big difference is when you have a right to pracitce some of these rituals. For example, in the Catholic and many other Protestant Churches are you Baptised as an infant, but you cant receive communion until you go through special training (sorry the term escapes me now) and have a first communion. And after that I dont think you cant technically accept communion unless you have recently confessed but that is an outsiders observation so I might be wrong. Baptists don’t believe in Baptism until you become an official member of the church and accept Jesus as your Savior. In some, not all, Baptist Churches you can’t receive communion until then. Some Protestant Churches have open communion, others require you to go through special classes in your early teens before you can accept communion…or officially join the church..
No. About the one thing that all Christians do is pray. The vast majority use the sacraments of baptism and holy communion, but the Salvation Army don’t do those. But leaving them aside, it would be true to say that all meet on Sunday to worship which may or may not include communion. The variations are in what they believe about what they do, who they believe is allowed to do it, how they do it, and how often they have communion. For catholics, nearly all services are Mass (communion) and only a priest or bishop can do this. Only men can be priests, priests may not be married, the priest must wear the specified vestments (clothing) and the service is more or less ceremonial – however it is done, they have to do it as it is laid down by the Vatican. Eastern Orthodox is pretty much the same though how it looks when they do it is quite different. There are thousands of protestant denominations but often they only vary in minor ways. In many protestant churches communion will take place o
