Yes, this is perfectly acceptable under certain conditions. It is not recommended if NetBT is enabled on any of the interfaces that share the same subnet. It is also acceptable when using multiple IP addresses for the same interface – like in a cluster, or with virtual servers – even if NetBT is used. If NetBT is required, Alacritech recommends that you not run multiple interfaces on the same subnet for the following reasons: • (Applies to: Non-SNP aware drivers only. ) If you have both Alacritech and non-Alacritech adapters on the same subnet normal NetBT/WINS behavior can cause packets to go to the wrong interface. Since we have a separate stack, the packets will be dropped.
