yes the jet stream is now used to save planes time when traveling with it if the jet stream is going against the plane they avoid it as it would slow the plane down the japs used the jet stream during ww2 to send ballons with explosives on them to the usa they only did it a few times but the jet stream was discovered by a japanise man years b4 ww2 but no one would belive it untill ww2 now we know it to be there and we know it slowly moves and it is used when treveling with the stream by planes to get there faster and avoiudid when travaling against the stream.
