Do airline flights get cheaper as the day gets closer?
No – in most cases, airlines won’t reduce their flight prices as the day gets closer. Many airlines would prefer to have a few empty seats than encourage a ‘last minute’ culture, which has been very detrimental to the hotel business. If the flight has lots of empty seats, some will probably still be available at reasonable prices – not because they have been ‘reduced’, but because the cheap seats haven’t sold out yet. It’s always best to book your flight in advance.
