Do adults working with special needs/vulnerable adults need to be checked?
Adults working with severe special needs/ vulnerable adults should be checked. This does not include bereavement visiting. Do we check 16 & 17 year olds? Only those over 18 years old will be checked through the CRB. Why does the CRB request a reference? The CRB will use the referee in the event that the applicant does not have any of the preferred forms of identity. It does not replace the referees requested on the Leaders Information Form PPP/5. Can the CRB form be photocopied? No. Each form has a unique reference number, which is used as part of the tracking process by the CRB. Forms are available from the counter-signatory at the Diocesan Office. Do we still need to complete the Declaration Forms PPP/2? Yes. It is important that all people who work with children and young people complete a Declaration Form, as required by the House of Bishops and the Diocesan Child Protection Policy.
