Do adopted babies ever have a second christening/baptism/naming ceremony?

Hi Melissa, I didn’t know children were only supposed to be baptized once. Once a child is adopted, the AP’s are going to change the child’s religion to whatever they want anyway. If both families happen to belong to the same religion then there would be 2 certificates stating that under different names. My family had me baptized one religion. Then years later, our adoptive family baptized us a different religion. I belong to neither of those religions as an adult. Two documents exist for me under different names & different religions. Families receive records of baptisms at that time. Records of baptisms are also kept by churches. Obtaining copies of any of their baptisms is not a problem for the adoptee as long as they know their original name and the correct churches where it happened.
