DirectX 8.1 or above is properly installed on my computer and the game refuses to launch, complaining about a critical initialization failure. What could be the problem?
It is possible that your sound and/or video is not compatible with DirectX 8.1. Try to activate DirectX 7 compatbility mode this way: 1. Insert the Mia Disk 1 in yout computer. The CD-ROM startup window appears on the screen. 2. Click on the Options button in the window. 3. Check the DirectX Safe-Mode option by clicking on the empty circle. This activates DirectX 7 compatibility. You will not need to repeat these steps in the future. 4. Click on the Play button.
