• DirectShow is removed (into the Platform SDK) and may be replaced with the Media Foundation. • From the November 2007 update the following APIs will be removed completely: DirectMusic, DirectAnimation, DirectInput7 and DirectPlay. For more details see DirectX SDK. • DirectDraw is still in place but Microsoft do not encourage its use. It is likely to go in the future.
