BY359X-1500 and BY359X-1500S are Philips dampers, rated for 1500 Volts and 10 Amps, in an insulated TO220 case. The ‘S’ version has a faster reverse recovery time. A regular BY359 might substitute if insulating hardware is added. It may also be possible to substitute Sanken’s FMQ-G2FS or FMQ-G2FLS for BY359X; both are 1500V, 10 Amp, in insulated TO220 cases; FMQ-G2FS has the faster reverse-recovery time. B&D Enterprises (www.bdent.com) lists the FMQ-G2FS and FMQ-G2FLS.
