Difference between Bridle View annexation and North Juanita, Finn Hill, and Kingsgate?
Bridle View is being allowed to retain nearly all of its current zoning that it has with the county. That neighborhood will also be connected to the Kirkland water district and receive the lower rates it has than its competitors. In short, all of the benefits and none of the drawbacks that are being forced on the PAA. Bridle View is not at fault here. Kirkland is simply not applying its restrictive rules evenly across its annexations. It is only fair to note that the Kirkland City Council fought hard to strip the county zoning levels away from the PAA (except Goat Hill), fervently claiming that lowered residential building heights and increased density “make up the character of the City [ofKirkland]” while they smiled through the Bridle View annexation and allowed for all their zoning rights to be retained.
