Did you see the movie, “No Reservations”, starring Catherine Zeta Jones and Aaron Eckhart?
Typically, I do not care for “I am so much smarter than the adults” child performances; however, Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine and The Ultimate Gift) is a delightful actress. I am a huge Catherine Zeta-Jones fan, and I think Aaron Eckhart is wonderful. So, why did I walk away from this Americanized version of Mostly Martha still hungry? It is because I watched Mostly Martha first. The German movie, despite the pesky sub-titles, really hit the spot for me. It seemed to have deeper, more emotionally charged moments, a strong and sophisticated story line, and actors who really bring depth to their characters. The original story goes much deeper than the American version. No Reservations is merely a fluff piece with little intensity, and big star power. I might have enjoyed it if I watched it first; however, I loved Mostly Martha and am incapable of making an impartial decision.
