Did you know that farmers in Ireland refuse to brake up fairy rings?
It is basically superstition, but it is one that shows many people in Ireland (And England, Scotland and Wales) still have a deep innate connection with the old ways.Paganism, Wicca, Celtic lore, call it what you want, but it is the same thing. The Fairy rings themselves are said to be formed by fairies dancing round in a circle in a particular spot. If a human stands inside them then he risks being trapped in the fairie world if he/she falls for their tricks. To build over/destroy one is considered grevious bad luck.
