Actually I personally haven’t seen the other martial arts styles use the stick. Sure I’ve seen a little here and there over the years and in movies but I have never seen a martial arts club exercising and training with sticks. I did this deliberately so I would not be influenced by anything else. My intention from the beginning was to develop a unique Taekwondo weapon style that is purely a Taekwondo weapon style. Maybe somebody may look at Taekwondo Bongsul and say that it has some similarities to another style but I deliberately kept my attention away from other martial arts so that I could create this without any other outside influences. Did you make Taekwondo Bongsul more for practical fighting or did you design it for developing strength, conditioning and co-ordination? I had everything in mind. Let me explain.
