Did you find Blackadder Goes Forth: Goodbye touching and emotional?
Touching, poignant and emotional. To have done it with just pure comedy would have been to denigrate the memories of all the men who served, and died, in the trenches. Yes the comedy was there, but the poignancy of the story, the accuracies mentioned and the way the went over the top, in slow motion, with just the piano music with their images fading to nothing, suggesting they each died, along with the memorial script at the end, was a beatiful way to remember the troops, on both sides. Great question.
