well, I don’t live in the US, but here in Ireland, people only become interested in tennis when Wimbledon is on. And frankly, take away last years and yesterdays finals, the finals have been pretty boring, 3 sets of aces. federer at least brought back the game, and proved a game can be won without 24 aces per set. So , while tennis has always been shown here, mostly on euro sport, whether it got the audience it deserved was another thing. So I think, yesterdays final, did bring back the tennis of old, the 5 set finals, that lasted more than 1 hour. Delighted Rafa won, I remember him being beat by Federer in Miami, all those years ago, and realising then he was something special, he deserved it, lets hope he keeps improving, and makes an impact in New York. Sky TV, have already started advertising the US open dates, so that’s a first, normally it’s only advertised in the week coming up.
