Did WNO play a role in winning the Miss D.C. Pageant?
ABSOLUTELY! As Miss D.C., Im expected to serve as a role model to young people, and so my time at WNO has been essential to building those leadership skills. I also used my new DVD-making skills to create a DVD for my Lets Talk Trash platform, which is all about the importance of recycling and green initiatives. But maybe the most fun connection between WNO and Miss D.C. is just a little superficial: The WNO Costume Studio lent me a gown! Wow, that studio is just a fashionistas dream, and [Costume Director] Marsha LeBoeuf and her team were great. I wore the dress for the talent portion of the evening where, appropriately enough, I sang O mio babbino caro from Puccinis Gianni Schicchi. Whats Next? I graduated in May, and like a lot of my classmates, I didnt exactly have a plan post-undergrad.
