Did William Shakespeare and Edgar Allan Poe write about similar poems or stories ?

To begin with, they didn´t write ABOUT poems or stories. They just wrote poems or stories in the form of plays (in the case of Shakespeare) and short stories (in the case of Poe). They wrote about various themes. Poe’s stories are mainly about gothic themes, and they are quite different from Shakespeare’s. There are some ghosts in Shakespeare’s plays, but they don´t remind me of Poe’s stories at all. So, my answer is nop, they didn´t.
