Did vikings really practice human sacrifice?
Though there are very few written sources that tell of pagan Vikings practicing human sacrifice, archaeologists have discovered some instances of what appear to be the victims of sacrifice buried together with the deceased. There is nothing to indicate, however, that this was a common practice and it may well be that it was limited to particular and unusual circumstances.
