Did united artists make a compact disc of the movie soundtrack the beatles a hard days night?
Answer Hey, Debbie. To the best of my knowledge, it’s not available on a CD issued by United Artists in any country. I’ve been looking myself for a couple of decades now. I emailed United Artists a few years ago when Anthology was released and asked them if they were going to release “A Hard Days Night” on CD. Their response at that time was that they don’t have the rights to the music anymore. If I remember correctly, they said that rights reverted to The Beatles ten years after the movie was released, which would put it well before the advent of CDs. So it would appear that the only people who can release it with the same music as the original vinyl album would be Paul, Ringo, Yoko, and Olivia. I highly doubt that such will ever be done because I remember reading somewhere, perhaps in the Anthology, that The Beatles themselves were not thrilled with the alternate versions of their music.
