Did Tom Watson blow/choke away the British Open?
So the question that we come out of the British Open is whether Tom Watson choked/blew his chances away from winning the tournament or did Stewart Cink do enough to earn the win. I’ve always had a disconnect with viewing golf on television because I don’t play the sport personally. There has never been a desire to head to the course and play a round or two. The problem with this is that it makes it more difficult for me to analyze a good golfer and a bad one. However, after last year’s excellent U.S. Open showdown between Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate, I’ve taken to watching more golf on TV, at least the Majors. This year, I wasn’t planning to watch much of the British Open but Watson got me to view the final two rounds because it’s a great story. Here you have a 59-year old legend of the sport who has already won the Open five times in his career going for a sixth one competing against men half his age. Personally, I didn’t mind Woods not being involved in the final two rounds. I like
