They were the Washington Senators from 1961 to 1971, when they moved to Texas. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_Rangers_(baseball ) Their was also another team called the Washington Senators from 1901 to 1960 and they became the Minnesota Twins. http://en.wikipedia.
