Spanish Television said about 2,000 people took part in the first of eight runs at the famed San Fermin festival, made famous by Ernest Hemingway’s novel “The Sun Also Rises.” Tuesday’s run lasted about 2 minutes and 30 seconds, which is quick for San Fermin runs. Fourteen people have died at San Fermin since record-keeping began in 1924. The last fatal goring was in 1995. The victim was Matthew Tassio, a 22-year-old American.
