Did the Roman Empire fall because they converted to Christianity and went soft?
The Roman Empire fell because of its attempt at total control. The roman catholic church, patterned after the Roman government took it’s place. They attempted total control by making the catholic church the official church of England and slaughtering those who would not convert to catholicism. There are many, many comparisons between the Roman Empire and the catholic church.
