Did the Ridgid 4.5 HP unit take care of the flood?
The vacuum comes with a large diameter hose and two sections of pipe. Additionally there are two vacuum heads one for wet and one for dry surfaces. The dry head has a neck that is two inches wide and capable of inhaling most anything that may have fallen on your shop floor. I used the unit to clean up some nails that were scattered about with no problems. Dirt and sawdust was sucked up from almost a foot away from the head. The wet head attachment is about a foot wide and is very narrow. There is a soft rubber squeegee built into the head. The water in my basement had soaked the nearby area rug and I hoped that the vacuum would have the power to suck up a good portion of it. I was not disappointed; the Ridgid 4.5 HP unit had more than enough power and eagerly sucked the water out of the carpet. The unit generated enough suction that you could actually feel the vacuum head pulling itself down onto the rugs surface. After vacuuming for fifteen minutes I was wondering how much water I was
